Robert Indiana is an American artist who has played a key role in the development of assemblage and Pop art. He as had an array of high profile exhibitions in locations such as the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Most commonly known for his “LOVE” sculpture series, Indiana focuses on the power of language and abstraction in his art. He uses a variety of mediums to explore themes of love, hope, death and forgiveness in our society. His highly anticipated upcoming exhibition Don’t Lose HOPE at ContiniArtUK will feature his extraordinary body of work, including silkscreen prints and sculptures which demonstrate his exploration of American culture through signs and language. His “HOPE” series, which will be highlighted at the exhibition, reminds us that in the world we live in today, hope is essential as it unites all of humanity through difficult times.
